Today in Writers Workshop we learned about a bird that does not fly...the Ostrich!
We also learned that Ostriches:
- They run really fast, up to 40 miles an hour
- They lay their eggs in the dirt
- They eat plants, grass, bugs, lizards, and turtles
-They put their heads under the dirt to move the eggs around
-They poke animals that are trying to hurt them
-Male ostriches are black
- Female ostriches are brown
- They have long necks
- they have fancy feather called plumes
- they lay up t0 30 eggs
