Readers Workshop 1/11- 1/15


This week in Readers Workshop, we will be learning how to Summarize stories. When we summarize, students will retell the story using beginning, middle and an ending. Parents: at night when reading a book to your child, have them Summarize the story once you are done reading it.

Math Investigations for 1/11- 1/15


This week in Math Investigations we will be working on measuring towers. We will be building and comparing how tall our towers are. Parents... be sure to talk about measurement at home with your child!

Math Investigations

This week in Math we are working on Counting Objects. We will be doing many different center activities where we count items in a bag, finish counting a number line, etc. Please continue to count to 100 with your child at home.

Readers Workshop

This week in Readers Workshop we are working on Categorizing and Classifying.

Writers Workshop


We have switched writing genres! We are now working on Persuasive writing. This is writing with a purpose. When writing a persuasive piece, students are trying to get their reader to think like they do. Here is an example of a Persuasive writing piece: Why the Spiderman toy is better than a baby doll.
